Past Rides

The Outcome Of The "Ride For Avery"

The ride Saturday November 10th went very well. We had several people after the ride ended at Quaker Steak & Lube restaurant come up and tell me that was the best and most well organized ride they've been on in sometime. I can say myself that it was impressive looking in the review mirrors and watching everyone do what they were suppose to do when the signals were given from the front. When all do like they did in this ride it sure makes the escorts' job a lot easier.

We had 2 units from Douglas County's Sherriff's Department leading the ride and 3 State Certified Escort Motorcycle Police units. These guys did an excellent job and helped make the ride as safe as possible. A couple of the motorcycle escort riders said it was great to have a ride were the leaders up front knew what to signal to all the other riders to make their job easier and safer for them to get back to the front after they blocked one intersection to the next. All the hard work pays off when you get pats on the back like that from law officers.

Well to the main reason for the ride. We had an awesome event and I truly believe we were able to take a little burden off the family. I contribute the success to all the great publicity which helped get the word out there. We had a total of 56 bikes and approximately 10 cars and trucks. We gave away 38 raffle items, had a 50/50 drawing of $312, and 14 Big Raffle items that ranged from $189 up to $652. The expenses were all paid for by our riding chapter. Therefore we were able to raise a little over $5900 to help Avery and his Mom. All and all what a great day, wouldn't you say?

Take care my brothers and sisters and stay in touch! RIDE SAFE!

A Big Thank You to all the participates in the "Cruzin For A Cure" Ride on May 20, 2007 .
